I have spent the morning looking for an equation to convert steam data (KGs per month & pressure) into a kWh equivalent, but have not been able to find anything. I have monthly steam invoices and ring main pressure for the facility and was hoping this, in conjunction with a steam table, would be enough to get an annual kWh equivalent figure.

Get A QuoteDoes anyone know how to calculate steam Lbs/Hr? When a boiler is rated in Lbs/Hr what does that mean? Is it the Lbs of water it will convert to steam in 1 hour or is it the Lbs of steam itself it will generate.

Steam pressure should be reviewed to ensure that it is at the optimum pressure to meet the plant's process requirements. If we only calculated tendency of leakage, then we need 1.02 – 1.05 kg, and it will increase continously during process. Also if condensate water allowed to return to the boiler, then you only need make up water, which

However, the volume occupied by a given mass depends upon its pressure. At atmospheric pressure 1kg of steam occupies nearly 1.673 cubic meters(m3).

A Pascal corresponds to the pressure generated by a force of 1 Newton acting on a surface of 1 square meter also said Newton per square meter (N/m2).It is a rather small unit like result and it more often used as a kilopascal [ kPa ] or in bar, equivalent to 100 000 Pascal.

Get A QuoteA ton is a measure of weight, whereas a cubic meter is a measure of volume, so the material must be known to be able to convert the units. One ton of pure water is equal to 1 cubic meter. There are 1,000 liters in 1 cubic meter of pure water, and a liter of pure water weighs 1 kilogram. Therefore, 1 ton of water equals 1 cubic meter.

Get A QuoteUse boiler horsepower to calculate steam flow. Boiler horsepower is not related to mechanical horsepower. It is a boiler industry rating that predicates the amount of saturated steam a boiler will generate starting with water at 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 0 pounds per square inch gauge (psig--meaning atmospheric pressure) and ending with steam at 212 F and 0 psig.
